The Philippines’ New Passport
S-Pass is the online travel management system that was developed by the Department of Science and Technology VI. The system will allow travelers to enter or exit provinces and cities that have restrictions. The program is expected to make traveling in the country easier, especially during times of pandemics, such as Typhoon Yolanda. By using the S-Pass website, travelers can check the latest travel policy and secure travel passes. They can also check the status of their travel in advance.
The S-Pass travel management system uses QR code technology to help ensure the authenticity of travel documents and prevent the movement of unauthorized persons. The Philippine National Police and Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases have mandated its use as one-stop-shop application for travelers. The S-Pass website also helps travelers learn more about the latest policies regarding travel, and whether or not they need to secure a travel pass.
